Tribunal Rules 2008
The Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal Rules 2008 apply to the majority of the cases which now call before the Tribunal.
The 2008 Rules govern the procedure before the Tribunal and came into force on 1st October 2008 but for a transitional period certain provisions of the 2005 Rules can still apply.

Standard of Proof
The Tribunal is seeking views on the standard of proof it uses in professional misconduct cases. The consultation document is available on this page. Responses are sought by 5pm on 13 September 2024.
Tribunal Rules 2024
The Tribunal's new procedural Rules will come into force on 1 September 2024 and will apply to all Complaints, Appeals and Applications lodged on or after that date. The new rules are available on this page for information only at this stage. The 2008 Rules will continue to apply to all cases lodged before 1 September 2024.
Expenses Guidance, Judgment Publication Policy and Health Guidance
The new Expenses Guidance and Health Guidance will apply to all cases lodged on or after 1 September 2024. The judgment publication policy will also take effect on 1 September 2024. These documents are available on this page for information only at this stage.
