Edinburgh 12 February 2015. The Tribunal in respect of the Appeal under Section 42ZA (10) of the Solicitors (Scotland) Act 1980 by Alistair K S Hood, 5 Glendale Drive, Auchinairn, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow (“the Appellant”) against the Decision of the Council of the Law Society of Scotland, 26 Drumsheugh Gardens, Edinburgh (“the First Respondent”) dated 29 May 2014, not to uphold a complaint of unsatisfactory professional conduct in relation to heads of complaint 1 and 3 against William E Renfrew, Solicitor of W Renfrew & Co. Limited, Solicitors, 648 Alexandra Parade, Glasgow (“the Second Respondent”); Confirm the Determination of the Law Society in respect of Heads of Complaint 1 and 3; Find the Appellant liable in the expenses of the First Respondent and of the Tribunal including the expenses of the Clerk, chargeable on a time and line basis as the same may be taxed by the Auditor of the Court of Session on an agent and client, client paying basis in terms of Chapter Three of the last published Law Society’s Table of Fees for general business with a unit rate of £14.00; and Direct thereafter that publicity will be given to this decision and that this publicity should include the name of the Appellant and the Second Respondent.
