For Complaints:
The Law Society will submit a Complaint to the Tribunal alleging that a solicitor may be guilty of professional misconduct.

For Section 42ZA(10) “Appeals by Lay Complainers in respect of the Law Society’s failure to make a finding of unsatisfactory professional conduct against a Solicitor”

For Section 53(1)(b):
If a solicitor has been convicted by any court of any act involving dishonesty or has been fined an amount equivalent to Level 4 or sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 12 months or more, the Tribunal has jurisdiction in terms of Section 53(1)(b) and there is no requirement to make a finding of professional misconduct.
